It might be simple. It won't be easy.

Cut back on the drinking and cut out 95% of the sweets.

Cut carbs. Fluctuate your intake though, less than 75 to 100 grams one day, 50 to 75 grams the next, 25 to 50 the next, then less than 25 the next. Plan a cheat day or cheat meal. Then rotate your days.
Intermittent fasting. This was a game changer for me.

I did Ozempic and quit drinking for six weeks last year and got back down to my weight previous to my hip replacement. Was able to get back in the gym and maintaining too.
ETA: lost 50lbs. Got my cardio up and no longer needed the BP meds too.

Not very drastic.
Fewer carbs, more exercise.

not if that is true measurement at naval, not close. thats going from 15-17% bodyfat down to 10% or lower. im not talking jean size, im talking tape measure around the naval
You don’t need to try and impress us. A 32 waist just means pants size for non gym bros

Eat 2200 calories a day. Log your food on paper or app.
Try to walk several days a week.
Lift weights 4+ days per week.
Eat 150 grams protein per day.
Drink a good bit of water.
That took 4 inches off of my navel measurement. Still got some to go. Still eat some good stuff just in small quantities.

Have you gotten your test levels checked? Mine were low af due to my own poor choices in my 20s. When I'd lose weight my arms and legs would shrink and my gut would stay the same size. Doctor put me on TRT and drastically improved my quality of life. Really helped jump start the weight loss process when I realized I could make gains in the gym again and wasn't sore/injured all the time. I'm currently at 165 lbs and probably in the best cardio shape of my life.
A couple of years ago I was about to have to buy jeans with a 36" waist. Felt really disgusted with myself so I started making sustainable lifestyle changes. Mainly cutting back on drinking and snacking. Also started prepping all my work food on Sundays so I'm not eating out. I logged everything I ate for a while and it was pretty eye opening. I was taking in a lot more calories than I thought I was. I'd never quit going to the gym I had just let my eating go out of control. Currently wearing 30" waist jeans and my abs are visible in the morning. Still have about 10 lbs to go to hit my goal. It was slow but all the changes I made are things that I can easily maintain. Lost about 30 lbs total. Can really feel the difference in my knees and ankles. Being overweight makes every part of life more difficult.
Make small changes at a time. If you try to do too much at once you'll fail more often and get discouraged with it. Start off slow with easily achievable goals and hammer at it. Take walks in the evening instead of watching TV. Don't drink calories. If you eat a burger don't get fries with it. Prioritize getting 7 to 8 hours of sleep. You can go a long way by taking small steps.

I went from a 36" waist to now a 30".
I wouldn't say I did anything "drastic". I started light jogging in the mornings it's nice outside, got a nice set of powerblocks and a bench and lift weights and yoga in the basement a few times a week, and most importantly stopped drinking 4-6 beers almost every damn night; switched to edibles and thc seltzers. Cutting out alcohol alone would likely get you where you want to be if you're a moderate to heavy drinker like I was.
I did dry january and the first day of Feb I drank a few beers and they made me feel sick as frick. Haven't had a sip since then. Sleep improved, which improved recovery, which improved cognitive function during the day...I could seriously keep going on the benefits I've seen.

So here is something interesting that happened to me recently.
I had been feeling a little sick about 2 months ago. Lost my appetite for a few days. After that I seemed to just not want as much food.
Then I got used to that.
I did not lose any weight but then suddenly about three weeks in to that I looked at my face and realized I am a whole lot skinnier.
I think it took a few weeks until my body started burning the fat.
Then it happened really quick actually.
I bet I am down 20.

I'm about 30 days into this process. Got up earlier to make some eggs for breakfast. Meal prepped burger patties for lunch. Eat veggies, brown rice and chicken/pork chop/steak for dinner. Protein powder after my workout to make sure I get my protein each day. Working out every day. I'm down 12 pounds (goal is to lose 35 pounds over the long haul) but I feel much better and my body is starting to change.
I usually have a cheat night on Friday or Saturday night where I eat what I want and have some beers with buddies. I would probably be losing the weight faster if I didn't do that but I need a lifestyle change and not a diet that I hate. So it is working for me.

For the past 18 months I have been doing the carnivore diet. It took me about 6-7 months to go from 36" waist to 32" waist . Easiest thing I've ever done.
I went from 204 LB to 159 LB. Be diligent.
I will continue to eat this way forever.
No sugar
No bread
No Fried
Just meat. I love it.

Trying now. Biggest thing is making better food choices. I am not really cutting out anything per se out but a lot less fried foods, and a lot less simple carbs.
Eating a lot more protein and working out 3 days a week.
Cut down a LOT on sugar.
Cut down a lot on portions.
Cut out alcohol from 7 days a week to 3.
On the weekends i allow myself a little bit looser "rules."
Good luck.

There's been a few times this month in which I would eat a whole big bag of chips in a 24hr period.
I don't drink any. Just terrible eating habits. I'm trying 30mins hard cardio each day.
