They just upgraded to 80mph on the line heading into Cade, New Iberia, etc

This storm was not fricking around. What just came through Lafayette was intense.

Take these severe thunderstorm warnings seriously tonight, folks. These straight line winds tonight can do tornado like damage, but could be even more widespread.

Get you some of these and your neighbors will think you have power for about 5 hours

No power in NE Calcasieu. Generator power with a cold room and STARLINK hooked up. shite got live for about an hour. Winds probably between 60 and 80. I can’t complain though. No tornados and no hail.

Scratch that, 90mph gusts now according to NWS. Jesus.

These storms are packing a serious amount of lightning.

90mph gusts is basically hurricane force sustained winds level. Thats crazy.

I’ve sat through several Cat 1s and this was just as bad just not as long.

So this thing is basically a Cat 1 hurricane rolling through. Awesome.
