What are they? What do they look like? I've never heard of them.

Sensors that listen for gunfire and help pinpoint where they are coming from.

Gun shot detection. Now you understand why they are heavily leaned on in democrat areas of cities.

Some look like regular security cameras with domed covers. Others in CoA buildings look like glass break detectors on a burglar security system.

Thanks. I just googled them. I guess I've seen them before but never thought about what they were.
I guess I'll steer clear of areas where I see a lot of them

Even worse, are the cities who have rejected using them. They know they have a problem, but solving that problem gives them one less issue to get their useful idiots worked up about.

When it doesn't go off in the white neighborhoods:

"The technology clearly doesn't even work!!"

The best ones not only listen for specific frequencies of various calibers of gunfire, but also scan for IR indicators of muzzle flash. It's that combo that triggers the alarm.

If you've ever dropped a heavy textbook onto a hard marble/stone floor, then you know how loud and gunshot-like the sound alone can be. Pairing it with the muzzle flash confirmation reduces false alarms.

They aren’t accurate enough or reliable enough at this point. Jax is switching or has switched to a different device. I’ve heard it can tell the caliber of the bump stock too.

Can it tell us how many rounds have been fired from every bump stock chamber in the country?

Absolutely. That’s their real purpose. They just keep that on the down low.

I can actually see where this would be abused.
