I don't think at any point in the history of cable, you could watch every game on cable.

Just watch redzone to cut down on a lot of that.

I could only watch what the networks put out, with unskippable commercials, when they put it on.

I mean this is taking it to the extreme a bit dont you think??

Most already have prime and netflix. Plenty of games still on for "free" as you would be paying for cable so just add in whatever service you currently use for those channels or in some cases an antenna. Sunday ticket is always a luxury. If you really want to break it down I bet its not too bad because now most of the good games are nationally televised so unless you are following a certain team you dont need sunday ticket and if you are then you were probably already paying for it. IDK. I watch a lot of football and I dont find I pay anything extra than I already do for stuff.

The NFL makes their product worse and worse each year and at the same time makes it more difficult to watch games.

On the other hand, finding something else to do on Sunday's during the fall is becoming easier.

2 things

Even if true, before you had no way to watch every game, so I don't see the issue. It's the most popular sport in the world, yes it's going to cost a lot to watch every single game.

YouTubeTV (6x) $72.99
Does YTTV have exclusive rights to games?

Seems like over half that $850 price tag you posted is YTTV, so I'm not sure why you would need that?

Unless you have a need to watch all the games (as this has always been) you are not getting this

quote:

YouTubeTV (6x) $72.99

You need this, or DirecTV, or whatever else you would use for cable. This is getting you 90% of all of your teams games that would normally air.

Peacock $5.99
Netflix $6.99
Prime (5x) $8.99
ESPN+ $10.99

If you want TNF, you will obviously need Prime, but unless you "need" to watch all the games, the other's are ad hoc bonus.

TL:DR - The people that want all the games have been paying for them anyway (Sunday Ticket, Redzone, etc) and people that just want their teams games can simple use their regular cable (wired or digital)_that they would normally use.

Now compare that with the MLB, NBA, and NHL.

Also, there was never a time you could watch every game for free so not really sure what your complaint is.

The idea of steaming only the content you wanted was attractive at first, but the the constant addition of ( plus) networks to get what you should be getting with the basic service, has created prices comparable to cable

Why do you need 6 months of YouTube? The season isn’t 6 months long.

Didn't you have to buy games pay-per-view back in the glory days of cable if you wanted to watch every game?
