This is what I'm trying to say. We're like cattle. But if they unleash a 50% fatal virus on us that has to have been engineered, and we already know they have been doing the gain of function work on it, then we have to respond.
Because there will no longer be any excuses. There will be no reason for restraint. Everyone will have lost a loved one. Some will have lost their entire family. We all will have lost our material wellbeing.
We will all be dead men walking.
You would think at that point we would do something.

I'm not convinced we'd ever do anything. It's like we're in Plato's cave watching shadows on the wall, while an executioner paces behind us and periodically shoots one of us in the back of the head. But most of us are too scared to look away from the wall. Our sense of self and meaning is dependent on the shadows, and we'd literally rather die than acknowledge reality.
