We have point and click cameras now with top notch free photo editing software apps for any phone. Seems dumb when your cousin Gary can take good enough pics for that type of shite.
ETA: Feel free to show my comment to the wife.

My wife seems to like to take pictures of the kids every year. Mini sessions for Easter, Christmas, Birthdays and whatever session her photographer is having. We probably spend about $1,500 per year just on professional pictures, but then the wife and my two daughters need their hair and makeup done each time, plus ordering dresses/outfits on Amazon with the promise that she will return them(and never does).
None of these pictures have never seen a frame. They're still in the packages she received them in. Stacks and stacks of pictures that will never show their faces. It's a touchy subject in our household.

YES! shite drove me...son was having trouble processing dairy at the time so I shelled out for TWO professionally made dairy free cakes...that he barley touched...plus buying session, then photos, not to mention the spectacle that took 2 days to set up in the actual party....
Only thing that kept me from really losing my shite was reminding myself that it was for her...not him
