Was coming to post the same thing. Lots of turtles on the road this time of year too. It's a good time to look for snappers crossing the road.

I noticed a few driving to and from Nola two weekends ago.

When we visited in March I swear there was a dead nutria every 10 yards on I10 along Sauvage.

It's hilarious how many live down here and don't realize that. Gators are some dangerous roadkill for drivers this time of year in south louisiana. just like Deer are in the fall/winter.

It's like this every spring/summer. Saw a big one ~6ft this morning. He was pretty intact but dead as hell on the side of 61 near Gramercy.
