The “money” people want what they consider the safe bet. If they were to fund someone like prior candidates Bodi White or Steve Carter and lose, they have no stroke with the new administration.
They give no fricks about poverty pimp bullshite or anything else as long as they get sway on city government policy and contracts.

Bodi was such an awful candidate. Dude is actively racist and made his campaign about waging war on the city from the suburbs. Just a terrible message. Carter is dead. All Carter did was agree with Broome on everything and refused to really campaign. No shock he got trounced and then immediately died.
I wish I had the money to run. I’d probably lose, but it’d be really funny, and I’d take as many of those losers down with me as I could.
