There is an argument that more kids need to enter trades and make a decent to good living sooner than most grads, but the bigger separation in pay takes shape after the first 5-7 years. Unless one of the tradesmen choose to start their own business.

Still a great avenue for many to consider going trades, but it is physically more demanding of course. I know plenty who stay the course and provide a very good lifestyle for their families and have decent to good retirements. They are worn down, joint and back issues, but they by and large benefitted from trades.
