It’s all about the sign up bonuses. I don’t give much thought into their category spend unless I can scale it.

I mostly redeem for biz/first international travels

This. Got several credit cards last year with 90-100,000 point bonuses with $3000 spend. I easily do that every month. Me and the wife are flying to Crete and Portugal business class free this summer.

I like Amex (have Platinum) but Chase Sapphire is the tits. More airlines you can transfer points to and you can transfer Chase Ink to Sapphire to pool points.
