Bingo, market got ahead of Tesla, but Telsa has established itself as the GM or Ford of the EV market. So goes the ev market, so goes Tesla. EV market is just having some issues right now, but it is the future of cars regardless of what people think.

What you’re saying may be true. But that doesn’t overshadow the fact that this woman appears to be in WAY over her skis. I’ll make a fairly safe assumption that in addition to her HELOC and second job, she’s likely also used margin to buy TSLA shares. I’ll further assume that hers is anything but a diversified portfolio. So I’m guessing that most all of her eggs are in the basket labeled “TSLA: ride or die”.
I don’t care what stock it is or what the company’s prospects may be, that is completely insane behavior. Even if she was just investing with her own (unborrowed) cash, it would be crazy. But borrowing against your house?! Working a second job?! And if she also has margin debt, should she fall below her maintenance requirement and get a margin call, the decision to sell will not be hers… the brokerage will liquidate a sufficient number of shares to bring her back in line. And if she can’t keep up with the payments on that (probably 9% +/- interest rate) HELOC, welcome to living in a pup tent by the highway.
