Florida State football coach Jimbo Fisher has resigned to take the head coaching job at Texas A&M.

Fisher is expected to receive a 10-year, $75 million fully guaranteed contract. Per Chron.com:

While his contract numbers have not been revealed, A&M officials involved in the deal have said he will make between $7 million and $7.5 million per year over at least five years. Sumlin made $5 million annually.

FSU has named associate head coach Odell Haggins as interim head coach against Louisiana-Monroe.

"Coach Fisher did an exceptional job as both an assistant coach at FSU and in the challenging role of successor to the legendary Bobby Bowden," Florida State president John Thrasher said in a statement. "I believe Texas A&M is getting one of the best coaches in college football."

Just like so many times before where a corner was supposedly turned, ATM will continue to disappoint. Jimbo Chavis will do okay but no better than Sumlin. If ATM manages to have success, expect NCAA sanctions to follow. ATM is one of the dirtiest programs in the NCAA based on NCAA punishments.
