Since we aren't coaches and have no say, I think moving forward would be prudent at this juncture.

Terry Wilson is fun to watch. I have watched many Kentucky games just to watch him. If he was on a better team his name would be in Heisman conversations. He can make really good defenders look really bad. I like his story line too. KY lost every single QB and had to convert a WR to QB because he played QB in high school.

My mood, good or bad, has nothing to do with how bad uk’s qb is.

I think you got last year, and Lynn Bowden, mixed up with this year and Terry Wilson.

I think ole Stetson has a better chance at the Heisman.

Kentucky will be a tough game.
They have a solid defense and we know our offense is not the strength of our team.
Having said that, we should win by 2 TD's.

If Bo Nix can make big plays against UK then so can Lil Stet.

I agree and Bennett should be rolling out with an option to run early and often. When Bennett gets tired do the same thing with Mathis. By the 3rd quarter Kentucky's big guys will be totally gassed.

I think we have to test them first, see if we can knock them off the ball and just run it down their throats for four quarters in something like a 28-0 victory. If they start stacking the box is the only time we should be throwing the ball. And the rollouts should be based on the personnel they have on the field, as well as down and distance and even clock situation. I wouldn't just do rollouts for the sake of doing rollouts. As I said on another thread, rollouts are easier for the defense to blow up than a standard pocket pass play. I have gleefully watched UGA defense blow up opponent's rollouts and moving pocket plays for years. We don't need to be on the other end of that.

I just thought of something. We haven’t seen much RPO this year. That could just be a Monken decision OR it could be a lot of RPO stuff on the passing end is slants or drags over the middle and Monken knows with Stet’s height those may get batted often. Just a thought.
Also another thing I’ve been thinking about is arm angle. During and after the game many said “Brees and Wilson are short so why don’t they get batted a lot?” The answer is 2 fold. One they’re more experienced and understand little nuances like throwing from different arm angles or pump faking or shuffling to a passing lane. Secondly look at their natural throwing motion. Wilson especially. He releases the ball on a normal throw about 3 or 4 inches above his head. His delivery is naturally very over the top. Brees does this as well. Now watch Stetson. His natural motion is more 3/4 and next to his ear, making his throw lower anyways. In the conversation of short QBs and batted balls, every inch matters and Stet naturally releases the ball lower than average. Now he just has to practice and learn ways to work around this.

I agree that you don't roll him out on every down because obviously the defense will compensate probably with more of a nickel type package which we should be able to run off-tackle against.
My main point is, when you have a short fast QB, you need to optimize his strengths and Bennett's strength isn't as a pocket passer.

Yea his height is just part of the issue. He doesn't have quick release and has a tendency to telegraph his passes.Tipping passes by DL aren't an easy thing to do and these guys are able to time his passes in the pocket. Its not a good combination.
