Probably at least 15 summers there. Usually 10-15 of us in the biggest cabin that we could reserve. It's a great location for family trips. Nothing fancy but a big facility with very nice grounds. It's a good location for getting to the park entrance, town/stores/restaurants isn't too far. It's been more than 10 years since I've been, though, but it's hard to see much changing. It used to be a bit difficult to get a cabin in peak season, you had to donate to their annual fund to get priority, and reserve well in advance.

Well they have all kinds of lodging in august. Think the timed entry is keeping away normal travelers. No matter to me, just get into the park hella early.

I stayed there a few years ago. It's great for kids. Most cabins do not have AC or a tv if that is something that will bother you. It's also close to the national park and downtown Estes. It's ok.

I mean, it is very close to the national park but the YMCA is a family environment. I would probably choose somewhere else personally.

It’s the best location for getting in the park early. We stayed in a cabin right near the YMCA grounds. You can be in the park in 5-8 minutes from that location.

Took the family for Easter break. We stayed at an AirBnb outside of Estes between downtown and the park entrance. We rode through the YMCA and it looks like a cool place to stay with family. I would look into the AirBnb option too if I were you. The place we stayed was practically brand new and was a great place in a great location.

We spent one night there in October and my sister's family is there now. You can access park trails directly from the Y property, so you don't even need a park pass for those trails. The lodging is VERY basic but all of the other amenities make up for it. I'm not sure if your group would be interested in things like archery, ax throwing, horseback riding, guided hikes ... I think they may also have fly fishing excursions.

We also spent a few nights at The Landing, just down the street from the Y. It was awesome and I highly recommend it.

Ballin. Looked like I could walk to Tuxedo Park bus stop on Bear Lake Road. Glad to hear it’s possible.

That's not what I meant. I think you would get bored there.

Look, if you want to stay there so be it. When I was with my kid and in laws it was perfectly fine. If I was going with a bunch of guys I would pick something more.....fun. But you do you. I know there are usually some AirBNB's in downtown Estes.
