Jester King- about 15-20 minutes outside austin on a big ranch w/ an extensive beer list of their own and guest beers plus wine. Pizza place on site is good too. kid friendly.
Blue Owl- Only sours so not for everyone. Small, quirky place.
Lazarus- happening scene but beers are average.
Zilker Brewing- nice tap room but beer is gawd awful.
ABGB (Austin Beer Garden Brewing)- OK beer but good atmosphere and food.
Hops & Grain- Pretty good beer but back in an industrial area. I want to like it more than I do.
Bangers- not a brewery but a great craft beer place.
Craft Pride- Another good craft beer bar next to Bangers and really good place w/ a good detroit style pizza food truck in the back patio area.
There are a bunch of wineries in the Fredericksburg area but I know nothing about them.

Pinthouse Pizza! Their Electric Jellyfish IPA was the best beer I had in Austin last weekend. Lazarus was also a lot of fun with a great oatmeal stout.

Came in here to say this. The Jellyfish is consistently the best-selling IPA in the city.
I used to beertend at the S. Lamar location, and we sold a shite-ton because that was the only place to get crowlers of it (different locations of PHP sold different beers...aside from distro, Lamar was the only place to get EJ). I think now, however, Jelly can be found at all 3 brewpubs, and various bars and restaurants.
I love the ABGB...their beer is decent (known more for their Pils than anything), but the food is great and it's an awesome vibe.
St. Elmo is good, as is Friends & Allies.
Banger's on Rainey is a great choice if you're looking for a large selection...they have about 103 on tap, good food, and a fun outdoor area.
4th Tap is cool, it's up North, along with Austin Beerworks.

Acopon is my favorite. But I also prefer English beers. If you like English/British beers, go check it out. They also have cask ale.
