What to do and where to stay in Atlanta for one day??
My family and I are having to spend one day/night in Atlanta before flying to Bozeman. Any one know a good area to stay in? Some things to do? Places to eat? TIA!

The aquarium was pretty neat. You could probably burn at least a 1/2 day there. You could always do top golf if you don’t have one where you live.

Botanical gardens, then walk the park to the beltline, then over to Ponce City market

I’d stay in midtown. In regards to what to do:

College Football Hall of Fame
Aquarium
Top Golf
The Painted Duck (bowling)
Puttshack
Ponce City Market

If you have been to any other sports hall of fame, you will be severely disappointed in the CFHOF. It really only appeals to kids and that's mildly. Its pretty much mostly all digital stuff, which you could just as easily see on your computer at home. JMO

All good evening options

Great place to eat, but also dont waste your money going to the roof unless you want to blow $15-30 per person.

Lots of shops and restaurants along beltline(Ponce is one) to see. Can rent bikes or use scooters to travel.

I'd recommend the W in midtown close to Piedmont Park. If it's a nice day, you can always walk to the park and the botanical gardens there.

Agree that the Aquarium is definitely a good option as well and not too far from there.

What hasn't been mentioned - If you're willing to drive a bit, you can hike up Stone Mtn. Great view of the city from there. There are some other good hiking trails there too.

Sweetwater Creek state park has great hiking just west of town. Arabia Mountain is a very unique state park a bit east of town as well. It's part of an old quarry that has really cool landscapes, although some of those rock areas can be hot af in the summer with no tree cover.

You can go to the MLK center and see Ebenezer Baptist church. Pretty moving piece of this country's history. The civil rights museum is right down the street from the aquarium.

Oakland Cemetery is really cool. Some famous graves there, including Bobby Jones.

The zoo is much improved than it was 5-10 years ago. And Grant Park is a beautiful old area of town as well. The zoo is right in the middle of Grant Park.

There are a ton of good places to eat. Any specific type of food you have in mind? Not sure if you're looking for some specific genre or something upscale or if you have young kids and don't want to put yourself through that kind of torture.
