I'm assuming VRBO is still the site to use for finding homes, villas, condos, etc for vacation rentals. It's been a while since I've personally booked something like that, so just wanted to make sure there's not a new site or avenue that I'm missing out on.

Thanks!

Look on VRBO, book on another site and save $2-300

What would be "another site"?

You just Google search the property. The vast majority will be listed by a realty company.

I had a bad experience too with Vacasa. We had to pay for our May 28 trip to HHI in full 60 days prior and at that point it became non refundable. I made a tough decision to cancel it not knowing what restrictions would be in place and at the time the world was on fire. Of course they keep their $250 booking fee.
Things somewhat go back to normal and I call them back to rebook. They wouldn’t credit me the booking fee I had already paid them. Seems like in this day and age they’d be understanding and want to rent that place out which is still vacant that week.
Nope.
Vacasa, air bnb, vrbo don’t own these places they are renting. They only collect the fees associated with renting them and in many cases they are all 3 trying to rent the same place.
