And he cut his first tooth this morning!
3 timezones change with a teething infant. What kind of hell am in in for?
Also, where is the good Mexican food? We are doing the zoo and the Midway, la Jolla, and maybe that island. Staying at an Airbnb in the gaslamp district.

Tylenol, Benadry and orajel --- helped me to keep my sanity. I didn't sleep at a Holiday Inn but I am a mother of 3 who are are now 25, 20 and 17 -- it didn't kill 'em so I say try it!
Have a fun trip!

Am I reading true things that the 24-72 hours before the tooth cuts through are the "bad" part?
If the tip has cut through already, are we in the clear?

You will be fine. Once the tooth cuts, most of the pain goes away.
Here is what you do for the flight though. Have the bottle ready, but hold off giving it to him until the flight takes off, then he has something to suck on and avoid ear problems during the ascent. Also they will hopefully sleep the whole way after that. It’s also a great time to introduce their first lollipop if they wake up.
I’ve traveled many time with my now 1 year old already and my 6 yr old when she was young. We did this every time and it has always gone smooth.

We have flown with him a few times already. Mainly just worried bout the teeth. Good to know he should be fine.
