Doing a week-long road trip (wish I had more time) in a month.

Texas (leaving from either Austin or Dallas) -> Utah

Have Bryce, Canyonlands, and Arches circled.

I've done Zion and Grand Canyon.

Any towns/parks/must sees? Interested in maybe rafting one day.

Make sure you hit Delicate Arch at sunset. It will probably be crowded, but it is amazing.

I thought Arches was great. probably my favorite of the National Parks I have visited. So much to see and appreciate.

How many days did you spend at Arches? I've heard one day there is enough. What all did you do and see?

Planning on spending at least 2 days at Canyonlands - one of which will be a rafting day. Plan on doing plenty of biking and hiking the other day or two.

Taking Bryce out of the equation and it adds another day of driving and don't really have the time for that.

We stayed in Moab for about 5 days. It doesn't matter how many days you spend in each place really. Arches and canyon land are literally across the street from each other

I don't remember any of the trails we did in canyon land, but I remember delicate Arch, landscape architect, and Double O Arch.

We spent 2 days in Moab and went to Arches both days. the hike to Delicate Arch is about 3 miles round trip, some of it over slick-rock. not a hard hike at all. some of the other arch structures are either viewable from the roads or a short trail walk. You can hit all the hotspots in a day easily.

I prefer Capitol Reef to Arches.

I liked Capitol Reef better than Bryce, maybe a bit less than Arches. Delicate Arch is incredible. But the lack of crowds and size of Capitol Reef is awfully nice too, and the cooler weather. It's a tremendously overlooked park and one of my favorites.

Everyone goes on and on about Bryce Canyon, but we went there last year and I was disappointed. Maybe if I had gone down into the canyon trails I would have felt differently?
I did like Capitol Reef, Zion and the north rim of the Grand Canyon though. Part of my problem is that we tried to do too many parks in too short a period of time and spent way to much time driving.

Plus there is no entrance fee.

Really nice campground at the headquarters. And Fruita near the HQ area is an interesting quick stop to see an attempted Mormon settlement site. Some good hikes near the HQ, one up towards the dome with a great view of the valley. Drive down the park road south from the HQ and after maybe 5 miles hike through the narrow canyon to the east. And if it might rain probably best not to make that hike because of flash floods. Or just drive all of it with a 4WD and see the sights. Most of it is remote and takes a 4WD. But what you can see with a car is awfully nice too and very few other people make it there.

Great place.

Arches is worth the two days and really from there Canyonlands is at least two days to see both sides of the park. But at Arches theres so much to see and do besides just the park. The park is awesome but crowded but the area is teaming with sites with petroglyphs and hundreds of arches. Jeep tour would be nice. Canyon Lands is awesome Needles and Islands in the Sky. Bring your camera...Last trip I shot 1200 clicks. If time permits head towards 4 corners and visit Hovenweap best place to stay is I think a rental called " Canyon of the Ancients" awesome people and close to Mesa Verde....Just be ready for Red Dust.

I'm planning this similar trip for May/June of 2018, thank you all for the ideas. I'm obsessed. Family thinks I'm nuts, but to outfit ourselves and make certain we get accommodations I think it's imperative. But we have to get through the school year, too.

You went all the way to Bryce and just drove along the rim?
