Uber/LYFT car seat question

We are traveling out of town coming up and will be utilizing Uber/LYFT while there. I see that child seat options are only available in certain cities (the city we will be visiting not being one).

So should I plan to bring along a base/car seat or is there another alternative (besides leaving the kids at home) that I can utilize. I assume a taxi service may provide a car seat option?

We always travel with just the car seat and no base. I went all over the country last year and we were fine. If anything, you can bring a rolled up towel to wedge underneath where the car seat meets the back rest of the seat. That helps prevent it from tilting down when you tighten the hell out of the seat belt.

Yep, just the seat, no base.

If you have $500, consider the Doona.

Otherwise, use your car seat you have for the Uber and consider a lightweight frame stroller to combine with it to give you a stroller for walking around.

Graco example

Likely stupid question, but will any Uber/Lyft allow car seats or do I need to request a certain type?

We just went Uber XL to make life easier.

Any car will do if it has enough space for everyone. No special requests necessary.

If you have even more money to burn, your four year old may fit in the WayB travel car seat. Check it out.

With two kids I'd definitely do the larger Uber and Lyft.
