My daughter is going to summer camp for a week at Carolina Creek in Huntsville so our plan is to drive up on Friday then the wife and I will stay the night after dropping her off on Saturday.

I was thinking the Woodlands would be a good option but not really sure..

Would like a decent Saturday night atmosphere for the wife and I..cocktail lounge(s) and decent dinner option for sure.

Any specific locations or hotels you might recommend?

I'd stay at the Westin on the waterway, tons of bars/lounge spots/restaurants within walking distance.

My daughter's going to the same camp in July.

I'd recommend the Marriott or Westin on the waterway if walking distance to several places is your preference.

If Westin on the waterway is booked up then look into Embassy Suites by Hilton The Woodlands at Hughes Landing, they have a nice cocktail lounge at that hotel with free drinks. Restaurants are within walking distance and Fogo de Chao is a great brazilian steakhouse (don't order any extras, appetizers or salad bar.)

Westin and Marriott are best bets. If you’re a beer fan, hit up B52s just north of the Woodlands.

We stayed at the Westin in September 2019 for a concert. It is a fabulous property and walking distance to many restaurants and the woodlands mall. Bar Louie is right across the street and was a very convenient place to hang out and drink.
