S/O and I are driving down to Fredericksburg from Dallas on Monday - she hopes there are still bluebonnets in bloom on the way. We'll have two days there, then drive over to San Marcos to visit some friends for a couple of days.

Any recommendations?

Enchanted rock and the Nimitz museum are about it. I went recently and was pretty bored. The Treaty House and Lincoln Street Wine bar are two of the better options to have a drink.

We just spent 4 days on a ranch outside Fredericksburg and a total of 1.5 hours in town. Its a giant tourist cluster but you can walk on Main Street with a drink in a gocup. Like someone said, enchanted rock is a nice hike but it gets crowded quick and often they close the park to more people so get there early. Go drive the Willow City Loop. There should be some wildflowers blooming but not sure about bluebonnets. We spent most days driving backroads to different towns. My favorite was probably Boerne. We would hit a craft beer spot in each town and then drive back to the ranch before dark since I didn't want to be driving those twisty roads in the dark with a buzz.

Take the back roads over to San Marcos, Blanco State Park is worth the stop, also Wimberley would be a spot to stop off, shopping, lunch, and a drink or two. Once in San Marcos go drink a beer or two at Cheatham Street Warehouse.
