Tailgating in Austin

Is it worth hangin out ? We're not going to the game itself so we 're going to watch at a bar.
Just wondering If I just head to. bar early if it's a lame waste of time or if there's enough sights to see to spend some time around the stadium.

not really. all government buildings and parking garages
some cool museums (bob bullock/lbj) but not sure if that is what you are looking for

I would honestly just bar hop. It's what Austin is best for.

UT is a cool campus. I'd go south of stadium on San Jac and cruise up and down. You can always then hop on a scooter and head to the Capitol where people tailgate as well and walk around. At that point if you're watching the game at a bar hop on and head to W. 6th and go to Rustic Tap, Buford's or Woodrows. All scooter-able.

I would walk around some and then hit the bars....remember it's going to be hot in austin saturday....
