summer Denver trip with family
Planning a trip for June with myself, wife, and 8 and 6 year old daughters

Please add or suggest anything, but here's what im thinking.

2 days in Denver/Colorado Springs. Recs on places to stay are appreciated. Not sure if i "need" to stay in downtown Denver or not. Might do tech center

Pikes Peak
Air Force Academy
Garden of the Gods
Rockies Game or museum

Head out to Breckenridge for 2 nights and stay at an AirBNB. Do the shopping downtown thing as well as activities with the kids on the mountain top.

why not do airbnb in Denver? I always prefer airbnbs in neighborhoods when I'm with the family over hotels

Denver has an aquarium

Red Rock is fun for a visit even without a concert

funny, i was just looking at them and thinking that after seeing what hotels cost.

Check this out, United has a deal right now out of DFW that is $109 round trip. $435 for a family of 4 for mid June. I cant pass that up, right?

Rockies games are fun and they're putting in a new giant video board for this season. The kids would enjoy the museum of nature and science.

Honestly though Colorado springs is more tourist friendly with spots like manitou and the cog railway up to the top of pikes peak, so you won't do yourself a disservice if you stick to the springs and breck.

Rockies - pretty easy to get walkup tickets as well

US Mint in Denver - go online and get tickets now!

Coors Brewery in Golden CO

Estes Park Marina - cheap kayak or pontoon boat rentals on Lake Estes

Rocky Mt National Park

Mt Evans is less touristy than Pikes Peak, it's on the way to Breckenridge, it's one of the 14000 peaks, it was really neat and altitude was not an issue for my kids

We did the Vail Adventure Park - they have summer tubing, alpine coaster, jeep tours, zip line, etc.

We went to a Rockies game when we visited. Great stadium and a lot of fun.

With young kids go to Boulder. Pearl Street Mall, restaurants, Chataqua , Boulder Creek ( bring your bathing suit , bike path along Boulder Creek , Tea room, Farmers Market, hike on the Mesa trail . Best day ever.

Also please be careful with young kids at altitude. No way the kids would enjoy Pikes Peak like Boulder . 14,000 feet and long car rides up a switchback like that are going to make them car sick and cranky as hell . Wait a few years.

I’d do Boulder / Estes Park WAY before Denver /Colorado Springs . Again- not even close.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs is incredible. It is built into the mountain and the views are pretty sweet.
