Taking a short vacation with the wife and kids(8 and 6) to Pensacola Beach 7/5-7/10. Obviously we will be doing some beach time but looking for some things to do that arent beachy as well. Definitely going to watch the Blue Angels practice and also hit up the Naval Museum. Any other suggestions?

Ive read that the downtown area is real nice so any restaurant suggestions are appreciated as well.

If it’s not to hot for y’all, check out Ft Pickens.
Allow plenty of time for the museum. There is much note there than I expected

Crabs and Shaggy's are both good restaurants and have great outdoor seating. Crabs outdoor area is especially good imo.

Native Cafe for breakfast or lunch. Will be a line out the door.

Downtown Pensacola is nice. For best shrimp/fish - Joe Patti's Seafood - it's an experience...If you are buying any groceries, get it before going over the bridge to Pensacola Beach (Wal-Mart Market and Publix in Gulf Breeze)- they have NO grocery stores.

Peg Leg Pete's - it gets busy, try to hit an off hour.

Frisky Dolphin - Great Deck, Kind of Divey but my 7 year old always has a lot of fun there for some reason.

Native Cafe for Breakfast.

For Downtown Restaurants:

McGuires - Not exactly downtown, but just outside and worth the trip.

Nicks Boathouse is pretty decent too.

Aegean Breeze in the City of Gulf Breeze is kind of a hidden gem, it's Greek meets Gulf Coast and very good too.

For things to do:
The Blue Wahoos have a home stand and the games are great and relatively affordable (good food too!).

Downtown Pensacola is pretty good to just walk around and they have the historic tours and children's museum as well.

Joe Patti's is a seafood market and well worth the visit.

Fort PIckens and Fort Barrancas are pretty good and the kids enjoy.

Aviation Museum, is definitely a must do.

Also, Pensacola has a new ferry system so you can ride the ferry from the beach to downtown and to Fort Pickens. It's not cheap but not ridiculous either, makes for a nice day.

-Enjoy

This is going to get down-voted but we've been to Flounders three times and never have had a bad experience. The food was amazing and a cool atmosphere. I also second Peg Leg Pete's - get there early because it gets packed and there is ZERO parking. We love Pensacola Beach!

I’ve never been but what makes Joe Pati different from other seafood markets? Serious question.
I plan on going next week for oysters and shrimp.

Price, selection, the people who help you and the overall freshness and volume of choices. If you don’t go it is a mistake.
