Assuming the island doesn’t get smoked by a hurricane this upcoming season, the fiancée and I are looking to honeymoon in St Lucia around Nov/Dec this year.

Of course the most important matter to consider first is where to stay. There’s been a few posts about resorts there in a couple other threads covering adult all inclusives in general all over the place.

We’re late 30's and will likely spend most of our time at the resort on the beach, at the pool, or out in/on the water. Golf/tennis would be nice too, as well as an offsite day excursion of some sort. We are social people that will definitely want to take in some nightlife and mingle with others, onsite and/or off.

Since it seems a handful of folks that frequent this board have been to St Lucia, it be great to get some details of your experiences, dos/don’ts, recommendations, etc.

It sounds like the best ones are Jade Mountain (maybe more than we want to spend and too secluded for us?), Sandals Halcyon, Sandals La Toc, Sandals Grande, and Viceroy? A/C is probably a must have for us, coming from the mile high dry Denver climate we’re used to.

TIA!

Sandals La Toc if you want to golf but the beach isn’t near as good. Sandals Grande if you want a crystal clear beach. Unless you have checked prices at jade mountain and are ok with it, remove it from the list

Booking at any of the 3 Sandals resorts will get you access to all of them, which will give you a nice variety - i.e. Golf at La Toc, great beach and more of a party atmosphere at Grande, relaxing/chill beach at Halcyon.

If you end up going, book the Joe Knows Tour - it was our favorite excursion. Ziplining was fun too. Don't waste your time or money offshore fishing.

It doesn't really get hit by many hurricanes. Too far south.

Then sandals is fine. We did la toc for our honeymoon and stayed at the pool bar/beach most of the time. There was a free catamaran cruise included for us which was cool. The Joe knows tour is a must.

The food at the resort was okay, but nothing special. The breakfast/lunch buffet had the best food since they actually had some of the local cuisine included. They have different events each night so if they have the street party one, you'll find the best food there and a very entertaining show/party.

Also consider getting the helicopter from the airport to Castries. The drive is 45 minutes in a packed van going up and down the mountains on windy arse 2 lane roads. It's not so fun.

Looked at bunch of the resorts, ended up booking an AirBNB for a week next year for anny.

There are some insane AirBnbs with private pools and the host will send private chefs and massages.

They have several, which one? I assume the "ever popular Land & Sea Tour"?

River walk Cafe? Rain forest cafe?

Some sort of cafe. Great seafood and best mango mojito of my life.

Hope that helps.

frick you and frick Joe.

I'm kidding, of course. But my wife and I had a running joke with that damn tour.

Every morning, at 8:30am on the dot, the boat would come by our Airbnb playing this awful song. So my alarm clock was "WE'RE GOING AT IT TONIGHT! TONIGHT! BLAH BLAH BLAH THIS SONG IS shite! TONIGHT! TONIGHT!"

Wife and I stayed at the Halcyon a few years back. As SVG stated, you have access to all the Sandals resorts. If we had to do it again, probably would stay at the Grand St. Lucia. Better beach and younger crowd. Joe Knows tour is a must. Did the land and sea. Food was good at all resorts.

Yes. They'll take you into marigot bay then you'll snorkel at the piton mountains. You'll get off and take a van to these volcanic hot springs where you cover each other in mud and get in the hot water. You then go to a waterfall to wash the rest off then have a really good Creole lunch at place overlooking the beach. The ride back to Castries is a shite show where they break out the rum punch (very good and strong) and start partying.

It's really fun and definitely worth it.

Oh and if you stay at la toc, they'll be guys on the beach trying to sell you on these and other excursions as well as trinkets and sometimes weed (it's fake/a scam). Just ignore them all. You can book what you want inside at the concierge desk of the resort.

In terms of the shuttle between the different Sandals resorts, is it run like a bus loop with a set schedule, or 24/7 whenever you want/need at all 3 locations?

Set schedule and they don't run 24 hours a day, normal hours you would expect.

Get a Butler room, you get luxury car ride to yourselves both ways.
