Never been to Spain before, and I will only have time for 2 cities in Spain. I will be visiting 1. Barcelona, 2. either Madrid or Seville.
Which city would you choose? I'm not really into museums and arts btw.

Madrid and Barcelona are fairly opposite experiences in terms of Spanish big cities. Both great but sort of like comparing Chicago and Miami. So it could be nice to see both in same trip and be able to compare. But then again, Seville, which I have not been to, could be a nice antidote from the hustle and bustle of Barcelona.

We did all three last year. 4 days in Barcelona and Madrid and 3 days Seville with a day trip from each.
We did Montserrat and a cava winery from Barcelona, Toledo from Madrid, and Cordoba from Seville. As great at the cities are, the day trips were some of the favorite places we visited.
This is a huge generalization but my take on the three: Madrid is New York, Barcelona is Miami and Seville is New Orleans. Seville felt the most Spanish of the three. It would be my recommendation.
That said, hire a great guide for the Prado and I promise you would enjoy an afternoon there. Contexttravel.com is a good place to find a guide. Have used them all over Europe and Mexico City with excellent results.

Dang, sucks you have to skip one of them.
That being said, skip Sevilla this time around, because it’s much quicker and cheaper to get to Madrid. Barcelona and Madrid are a quick train from each other

I completely agree with this.
Seville oozes culture.

I would skip Madrid unless time is a concern as it is much easier to get to. Barcelona and Seville are amazing cities. Madrid underwhelmed me. Was just like any large European city IMO.

Depends on what you like, if you like big city atmosphere, go to Madrid. If you want to feel like you are stepping into another time, go to Seville. I would take Seville any day.

I spent most of a summer traveling though Europe way back in grad school in the early 90s. By far the most beautiful women I saw in all my time in Europe were in Seville. That said, Madrid and Barcelona are two of my favorite cities in Spain.

Wow that's a tough choice. I was in Spain last year for 3 weeks and spent equal time in all of those cities plus many more.
As others have said, Madrid has a "big city" feel to it, while Sevilla seems more intimate. The description above of NYC and Nola is probably the best description you could understand.
I probably had my funnest nights in Sevilla, but one extra plus about Madrid is you could take a day trip to Toledo (less than an hour trip), which is a must visit city IMO. Toledo is probably the most "medieval" European city in Spain and an absolute gem. It's beautiful.

Pretty sure that’s one of my favorite songs.
When is the trip? I’ll be in Madrid from the 26th to the 28th and can post some info for you.

I would skip Madrid and go to Seville. Seville is worth the trip just for a hair cut alone. I mean, it’s practically the New Iberia of Old Iberia.
