San Jose de Cabo Next Weekend
Posted by OleWarSkuleAlum on 11/30/18 at 5:45 pm00
I know there are several threads on this....
Anyways with that out of the way. I’m not planning on having a rental car. I’m staying at Cabo Azul is this going to be an issue?
It’s just the wife and I for our anniversary. Ia there a preferred dinner spot with the limitation of no rental car?
Is there a bus system that will move us from vic Cabo azul to the main part of San Jose del Cabo? If so what are the hours?
Aside from our anniversary dinner we prefer local spots that aren’t touristy. Any suggestions in San Jose de Cabo?
Any excursions or experiences you would 100% do / re-do?
Just quickly browsing TripAdvisor it appears that we are in Mexico with American prices for this. Definitely not cheap like the other places I’ve been in Mexico.

Flora Farms is incredible
Sunset de Mona Lisa has pretty good food there is very expensive, but offers the best View in all of Cabo at night.
There is a fairly new modern hotel called The Cape (a Thompson hotel) that is close to San Jose. It is very comparable to a W hotel here in the states. They have a rooftop bar that is awesome and tons of I candy, although you were on your honeymoon you can still do some windowshopping

I’ve looked that place up and Manta. Looks like it’s pretty far out of the way from Cabo azul. Is it possible to access without a rental? I hear cabs are absolute scams in the area.

Second Flora Farms. I think Uber started in Cabo in October of this year. Worth it.

Flora Farms is well off the beaten path, but it is an awesome place. I would highly suggest finding a way to get there.
Habanero’s Grill is a place we always go to. They have a really good menu for New Years Eve dinner.
There was a really good Italian place near the middle of town square - can’t remember the name, though.

If I’m in Mexico I would prefer to eat the food the locals eat not Italian food in Mexico !

Which fishing charter do you use? Probably will just be me as a single unless I can get my wife on the boat.

We’ve used a few, we like to walk up find a spot charter to get a good rate. Easy to negotiate.
Here is a charter that several on here have used, apparently he’s from NOLA.
I think TigerCraig knows him....or maybe is him.

Thanks for the link I’ll call and maybe I can sneak on with someone else to make it more cost effective.

Not at all.
Taxis are always available at Cabo Azul. They are also easy to get from Flora Farms after dinner.

Okay that’s good to know. I heard the cabs are an absolute joke scam in the area. I heard that Uber started operations in the area in November. I looked it up and it seems as if a ride from Cabo Azul to Flora Farms on Uber is 67.88 pesos which is dirt cheap but it also says there are no cars available. I suspect the cab union aka cartels aren’t taking kindly to Uber taking their cut.

Will do. Won’t be nearly as in-depth as my Israel series since I have the wife with me this time.

Cabs are usually a fixed rate between popular spots. If getting a lift from the hotel and/or restaurant be sure to have somebody that works there negotiated rate BEFORE you get into the cab.

I’m heading to San Jose de Cabo next month and wondering about any good patio spots during the day. Suggestions?

The marina has some good patio spots but your view is a fleet of really nice boats and yachts.
When you say patio, what view or atmosphere do you think of? Post a pic and I will tell you where in Cabo to find it....and if it exists.

Whether I have a view or not, I like drinking outside. Would assume there are plenty to choose from, but looking for user suggestions.
