Looking to drive from BR to a scenic location in Ms that has cabin and primitive options. Something kid friendly but not an rv park with putt putt. Will be going in October.

Hiking trails, creeks, and maybe the ability to drive a truck through trails.

Any recs?

Possibly Roosevelt State Park in Morton, Natchez State Park in Natchez, or Clarkco south of Meridian.

Tishomingo state park checks the boxes, but It's about as far away from Baton Rouge as you can get and still be in MS. Would be just as close to drive to Oak Mountain or Tannehill around Birmingham.

MeridianDog’s back yard. You’ll eat like a king and sleep like a bum
