My wife and I have a 3 day trip to New Orleans in October. We are staying at the Doubletree on Canal and have dinner reservations one night at The Chophouse. Are we good to walk back to the hotel after dark?

Um yes, it's like a 2-3 block walk through some of the most traveled parts of town.
Edit: If you have any concerns, either take a pedi cab or just avoid walking down the side streets - stay on Magazine, Poydras, Canal or Tchoup.

Depends. What kind of pistol are you bringing with you?

As long as you got about 15 rounds you should be good to go. Best of luck to you
