I need a place to stay for a weekend in mid June.
I would like to be in the Old Port section of town.
Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated!

PS I have champagne tastes but a beer budget.
Thanks again.

That’s going to be a problem because the beer up here costs as much as the champagne.

Honestly, in June it’s very hard to find affordable accommodations because it’s peak tourist season.

I stayed at this place, an apartment above a bookstore a couple 3 years ago. Great place but not in the Port area, only a 5 minute walk though. There are a lot of places walking distance to the port area that will be cheaper.

That place looks great.
However, I forgot to mention that I need 2 rooms.
And preferably 2 baths.

Maybe an Airbnb would work if you’re looking for multiple rooms?

Apex Luxury Rentals

We went through this site back in ‘19. Address was 84 High St...excellent location, walking distance to a ton of spots (and exactly one block from the Little Tap House, which was great to stumble home from after a nightcap)

ETA: if this one is too pricey, check the rest of that Apex site

Portland, Maine is out of $$$ight!

We are passing through on a 3-4 week road trip. We planned on using a free night (Hyatt) and paying for the other.
At $400, no thanks!!

We settled for a Marriott brand about 4 miles outside of town! (free with points)

Maine has a high cost of living. It’s crazy.
