We’ve decided to do a week long Northern CA adventure - splitting time between Healdsburg and Lake Tahoe.

Recommendations on places to stay on either side? We are looking for something “not like a hotel” for Healdsburg - possibly with a vineyard view; for Tahoe - a resort and spa type atmosphere.

Any suggestions?

Healdsburg is very close to the Dry Creek Valley. A number of wineries there offer lodging. I'm a member of a couple of wine clubs that do. You might check these out:

Is this the kind of thing you're looking for?

We found a place in Healdsburg that should do the trick.

Now on to Tahoe - any recommendations for a resort that may not be an obvious choice (like a Ritz Carlton)?

Where are you staying in the Burg? I can give you some places to visit, good hikes, meals, etc.

Healdsburg inn is on the square and you can get a pretty good deal usually. We enjoyed our stay there

We are staying in an airbnb located on a vineyard. Came recommended by some friends.

Would love some "not obvious" places to visit -- good lesser known vineyards, good meals, etc.

Check out Truett Hurst in Dry Creek Valley. Arista in Russian River Valley. Mercury in Geyserville.

Eats...try Diavola in Geyserville. Brass Rabbit in Healdsburg. Bluebird Cafe in Hopland.

The Landing Resort and Spa was very nice in South Tahoe. We were there last May.
