Going to Panama City FL with the family and don’t know much about the area. Any good restaurant or entertainment advice?

We went to Panama City one time a few years ago. We normally go to Pensacola beach.
Panama City was way bigger, busier, and seemed to have only fried food restaurants. We won’t go back. It wasn’t for us.

Same, following........
We are staying at the Calypso which is across from Pier Park it seems like...It says we are about 10 min away from Rosemary Beach so likely will go mess around on 30A when we venture out vs going into Panama City just based off of its touristy vibes and for how old some of the places are...
If there is anything worth going that way for though let me know...
I do remember some waterfall right off the interstate we'll bring the kids to go see...

Runway Island is good. I’ve been there twice. No complaints either time. Overlooks the water Good food, good atmosphere.
Prices are normal. A mix of fresh fish, fried foods, pasta and boiled seafood. I think they have steak as well but never tried them . They had a 1 man band playing both times we were there. . Both indoor and outdoor eating available

We stayed there this past May. The house we rented was awesome! But I’m not much on PCB. Lots of chain food places it seemed. But it’s set up for a younger crowd. We drove to Boshamp’s in Destin one evening to eat (luv that place). But I ain’t going back to PCB.

It's been 4 or so years since I ate there, but Saltwater Grill was good and not your typical fried seafood place at the beach.

We stayed at Edgewater(I think that’s the name of it) a few years ago. Firefly was a restaurant not too far from Edgewater that was delicious. We really enjoyed the trip but, it was pretty crowded and the town was hard to drive around. I remember a lot of construction when we went.

A hidden gem (hidden for us) when we went to Panama Beach was Finn's Island style Grub. It was amazing. A little taco truck looking building. It's Cerviche (spelling wrong maybe) was excellent.

I'm curious as well. I haven't been since the oil slick year and the beaches and weather were incredible but the food was blah. I recently saw a few pics of the trip and it gives me a hankering to go back, but every place to eat seemed like a tourist trap.

Captain Anderson’s
Angelos steakhouse (change of pace from seafood)
Hunt’s Oyster Bar (in Panama City and a local fave that’s a small place. Word has gotten out over the years so expect a wait)

Call in lunch from “Be Near Me”. It’s freaking amazing.
Also, side note, what the hell happened to Angelos. Place is asscracks now.
