I want to see a part of country I haven’t seen before. Planning a fall trip including Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Cincinnati. I may include Philly as starting point but not sure yet. What should I stop and see?

If the Renaissance fair is going on outside of Hersey Park, I'd recommend that. The Amish country is a good place to visit in Lancaster as well. Maybe Penn State to visit their campus?

We took a road trip in the spring that included parts of PA.
Flight 93 Memorial, a Frank Lloyd Wright house, Fallingwater, and Fort Necessity National Battlefield are about an hour southeast from Pittsburg.

Not a lot at Fort Necessity but I thought the history was interesting.

If you find yourself in the Akron, OH area, they used to give tours of the Goodyear blimp hangar. It's pretty impressive to see it up close and on the ground.

Get off the interstate. There are some neat small towns in that area. Some dying ones as well, but even that can be fascinating.

Wright-Patt National Air Force Museum is pretty legit. on the way to cleveland from Cincy.

Not sure if they are still on Covid lockdown, but you can get in old air force one planes, which is pretty cool

I make the drive from Philly to Chicago a few times a year. It's very pleasant/scenic at times. You could do something like Philly-Hershey-Pittsburgh-Canton-Cleveland-Kelley's Island/Put-In-Bay-Chicago.

I was in this area a few weeks ago. The drive across rural PA was beautiful and I imagine even more so in the fall. Don’t miss Fallingwater! Pittsburgh was nicer than expected and the ride on the Duquesne Incline was cool.

My uncle lived in Amsterdam, OH back in the 80's and it seemed to be dying back then.

Haven't been there since. He lives in Carrolton, OH now.

Gettysburg
My Uncle Dick lived in Gettysburg for as long as I can remember. Cool spot. Uncle Dick worked for Westinghouse on nuclear submarines. Radar systems I think. He could never tell his family specifically what he did in all the years he was alive. About 2-3 times when I was a kid - this was in the mid/late 80's - when we were visiting in the summer there were either a black or white van that showed up and just picked his arse up and took him to the nearest Navy base I'm assuming. One time were were 20 miles outside of Gettysburg and he was waist deep in water. He gave his waders to his son/my cousin, got in the van and left. We didn't see him again on this trip.

I drove Hwy 15 from western NY down through Williamsport & Harrisburg, PA. Very pretty drive. Then over to Hershey tour & Amish country in Lancaster.

Recommend the area.
