Ive searched the NYC threads on here. Will most restaurants be open on xmas day? Any suggestions as a nice place to eat lunch. I was looking at one of the restaurants at Rockefeller Center over looking the ice skating rink.

We went for Christmas once and our hotel did an amazing Christmas dinner so we just did that. Plenty of places are open but when we called it was hard to find any with reservations available and a lot of them had pre-set dinner menus for that night.

NYC is the most diverse city in the US

Majority of the city population doesn't even celebrate Christmas. There will be plenty of options.
