Number of countries and US states visited

My family was just counting, and we noticed that after my trip to India last week, I have now been to more countries (31) than US states (30). I'm also going to 4 other new countries before the year ends. I think I may get to visit 2 new states next year, but will probably also add 2-3 more countries. It is a race to 50...
Based on reading this board, I'm sure many here have a lot more! How many countries vs. states do y'all have? (I don't count just an airport transfer as "visiting" a country).

Not as many as I would like.

Countries: 11 (St. Lucia, Mexico, Jamaica, Honduras, England, Italy, France, Iceland, Cuba, Taiwan, Indonesia)
I feel like I'm missing some but for the life of me can't think of any. Also, It's ridiculous that I'm a 5 hour drive from Canada and haven't been yet.

It will be 23 countries when I land in China this weekend and at least 25 by the end of March. I didn’t start traveling abroad until May ‘16, but I have been on a good pace since then.

That's a lot since 2016! Is it work related?
I've been living overseas for 5+ years which is why I've been able to visit so many.

Just for fun.
Almost all of my travel has been since 2011. Before then I had never been anywhere west of Dallas, no midwestern states, and no New England states. Now I have driven through them all and been to most multiple times.
South America is the only inhabited continent I lack.

missing states: cali, Alaska, Hawaii, Montana, Idaho, ND, SD, Maine, NH, Vermont, and Mass. So 39 states visited. Hoping to get close to the main 48 before I hit 30 years old.

I know. I was actually surprised when I added them up.
International travel for work and personal international travel before kids going with us on vacations mostly.
ETA: I'm also not including states that I have just driven through. That would add quite a few.

I am also at 31 countries (I think -- depends on how you count Czechoslovakia), and I've only been to 27 states.

Countries (excluding US)- 12
States- 41- missing Alaska, Oregon, Montana, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and West Virginia. I have technically been to WV but I don’t count the drive across 5 miles when going from Pitt to Ohio as visiting a state.
