Norwegian Air
Any opinions/thoughts from those that have booked flights through Norwegian Air

re: Norwegian Air
Canceled mine and booked through AA. Luckily Norwegian changed the departure location from Oakland to San Francisco. Got a full refund.

Edit: flight is in May and was worried about the possibility of the company going out of business

re: Norwegian Air
Nothing special. But cheap, so that’s good

re: Norwegian Air
I will avoid them if possible from now on.

I was in Helsinki on a Saturday and supposed to fly to Stockholm the next morning to catch a Norweigian Air fight home. Around 3 PM I get a do not respond email saying that my flight was cancelled due to mechanical issues and they gave me a hotline to call. After listening to nothing but hold music and an automated voice telling me that my call would be answered in the order it was received for the next 6 hours, I say, frick this. I purchased an international text plan, but I was just imagining my phone bill skyrocketing for nothing because I'm connected to this Norweigian phone number. I look all over their website and try other numbers but they all lead back to this lone hotline. So I decide I'll just take my flight to Stockholm and see if I can get anywhere when I get there.

When I get to Stockholm I meet up with several other pissed off Americans that had no luck getting through either. Norweigian contracts out their customer service to this other company, which I cant remember the name of, where we all waited in line only for the workers to tell us to call the damn number for new flights. This obviously pisses everyone off even more. I talked one of the Swedish workers to loan me her cell phone so I could wait on hold without getting charged. After several more hours on hold I finally get through to a representative that puts me on that Condor flight out of Frankfurt straight to new Orleans the next morning. It was so bad that when people were finally getting through to representatives, other people were saying not to hang up and they'd just jump right on with the same rep. I was doubly pissed because I was supposed to meet up that night with this gorgeous Russian that owned a B&B in a Finnish beach town. Still pissed about that. I did meet a cute Swede to make up for it though.

TLDR: Norweigian is a discount airline that is nothing special unless your flight gets cancelled. Then it is the worst customer service you'll ever experience.

I once had a flight, or should I say, they once had me?

(Not really, just couldn’t resist)

irl: I’ve heard they’re Spirit Air-ish from acquaintances.

re: Norwegian Air
The plane and staff onboard were great. I was able to book a flight Paris to Miami for $130, but they nickle and dime you for everything else (water, snacks, bags etc).
I would recommend them for a cheap red eye flight to Europe, but not much else.

re: Norwegian Air
I agree with this - they're a no-frills airline though not as bare bones as WOW. They are a solid company that has been around for a while and you can get good deals, but don't expect British Airways quality.
