Planning a quick weekend trip to Phoeniz for wedding anniversary in July. It's actually a gift from work for 10-yr employment anniversary. Anyways, looking for a nice play to stay under $400/night.
I've been looking at The Boulders or Arizona Biltmore. Any others I should consider? I want something close to mountains.

isn't really near any mountains and is surrounded by a mall and master-planned suburbs.
the phoenician is a solid choice, and i always recommend the sanctuary, which has villas built into camelback mountain. another option would be mountain shadows or the hermosa inn (not far from the biltmore) or royal palms. every one of the resorts i just mentioned orbits around camelback mountain or the phoenix mountains preserve.
there is also a hip new hotel called adero that is at the top of a hill with great views of four peaks, mt ord, and the mazatzals, but it is further afield out in fountain hills.

I had a good experience here. Kind of dated though. Rooms could use a renovation for sure.
