Napa trip, wildfires, and alternative destination

Wife and I were planning to go to Napa for a 7 day trip starting next week. However, it is looking more and more like a bust thanks to wildfires (our hotel has been out of power all weekend.. more outages planned.. a few wineries closed). I have to cancel by Tuesday PM to avoid hotel charge.
So, PLEASE help me keep her happy and suggest some kind of similar alternative for next week; basically, not looking for big city or beach. Must be CONUS thanks to my work, otherwise I'd think Ireland as that's a dream trip for her.
Maybe Martha's Vineyard or other New England stuff?

Getting colder here, so keep that in mind.
It's already snowing in Vermont, and most things on the Cape/MV will be closing up soon with the end of the season approaching. And there's really not enough in MV to occupy 7 days anyway.

Pacific Northwest....the Willamette Valley is a nice alternative to Cali.

Doubtful. I was in Vermont two weekends ago and that was the tail end of foliage there. I can't imagine Maine was far behind.

Kind of a tough spot to be in. Oregon obviously makes sense but no idea what the weather is like.
I know beach isn't a priority, but you could meander south from SF (assuming you were flying in there) and do some portion of Monterey/Carmel/Pebble/Big Sur/Santa Lucia Highlands/Paso for a Central Coast wine trip. From what I saw in CA this weekend the smoke and fires haven't dipped into that area yet.
I've spent only brief time in that area but obviously the Central Coast wineries are getting big acclaim these days and I have to assume there are some very good resorts/hotels in the region.

Agree with Pacific Northwest. If you’re comfortable renting an RV, there are tons of very cool coastal campgrounds.

I think hotels may be too crowded by evacuees to go anywhere nearby

Just had this thought...I know you said CONUS, but what about Prince Edward County? Just over the border in Canada and it's a real up and coming wine region.

We've given up on wineries and either going hiking in Asheville or breweries in Boston (looking through your various postings, Abita), for about 4 days.

In the same boat here. Getting married Saturday, and the Sonoma/San Francisco honeymoon was supposed to start Tuesday. On Sunday we cancelled everything and booked all new plans for Portland and the Willamette Valley.

If you decide on the latter, feel free to post any questions. Always happy to help. There's certainly no shortage of breweries to check out. Especially if you're looking at 7 days...could definitely mix in some time in Vermont/Maine.

I just returned from the Newberg area for a work trip and was able to get to a few wineries while there. This is definitely the place to replace Napa. Do some research and you will find some gems. Best wine we had was Stoller Pinot Noir Reserve 2017. Best view is Penner Ash.

My wife and I just went to Sedona in September. That was a very nice place to visit. Lots of stuff to do within an hour drive. We ended up going to two wineries and was shocked at how good the wine was.
We flex into Phoenix at night and stayed at a hotel on the outskirts of town. Then drove to the Grand Canyon and spent the night there. Then a few nights in Sedona.
A lot of nice scenery. If you like to hike there are tons of trails. Or you can just hit spots and look at the scenery.
Nighttime sky is incredible, especially if you get away from the lights and give your eyes a little time to adjust to the darkness.
Food options are very good.

I was looking at going to Napa the first week of December. Would they still be in bad shape from the current fires at that point to where I should consider going elsewhere?
I know Napa was devastated by fire like 2 years ago. Haven’t heard how much they have recovered since.
