Looking at an international flight with Norwegian flying into LAX at 4:50 and then a Southwest flight from LAX to MSY at 8:20. Is this enough time to get through customs, check a bag and go through security?

I'd be more worried about Norwegian being in business when you travel.

When are you going?

Yeah, you should be fine. Use the mobile passport app to speed things up a bit at customs.

I had a connection in ATL just two days ago. Flew in from Colombia.

Plane landed at 7:00pm. My connecting flight was at 9:45. Had enough time to sit down and eat dinner and still not be rushed.

That is plenty.
I had a flight with Norwegian into FLL from Paris with a 1:30 layover and made it.

3.5 hours is way more than enough time.

You coming from Europe? It would drive me freaking nuts to have to fly all the way to L.A. to get back to LA doing so.

Holy shite that is a hell of a flight route. My biggest worry would be what happens if Norwegian is late because you are likely on two different tickets.

I flew from Tokyo to San Francisco a couple mo the ago and made it through it less than an hour. Then from Minneapolis to Tokyo a few weeks ago, it took me a little over an hour to make it through their customs.

Yeah, should be plenty of time. LAX customs is huge and pretty quick.

Flew into O’Hare this week from Frankfurt and had 90 minutes until the next flight. Had to get through customs, recheck bags and go through security. We made it running like assholes through the airport with only a few minutes to spare.
