Drink, smoke, relax. Don't be in a hurry b/c the people waiting on you won't be. Excursions in Jamaica are pretty meh. Dunns river falls is cool, and I had a fun horse riding adventure there 15 years ago that brought me through a local "herb" farm with some pleasant locals. But most of the other off resort experiences leave much to be desired. We also ate at small local restaurants in Ochos Rios on 2 occasions with good results, but the resort food is your best bet most of the time.

wondered about this... is it just a setup for da travelers to get arrested? as most probably do, we were hit up relentlessly the second we stepped off the plane.....
my advice.. make for damn sure (if you are a drinker) that wherever you plan to stay has "regular" beer and liquor, ice, etc. where we went it was nothing but mildly cool (not cold at all) red stripe draft and shitty well drinks served in those little 8-10 ounce cheap opaque looking plastic cups. you'd have to order 3 at the time, but they were so warm, especially when you got to the 2nd or 3rd you'd throw it out anyhow hahahahahaha. very little ice around. was not satisfied in the least. talked to some buddies that went after and warned him and he was like oh no... we make sure on that before we book, said they had longneck miller lite in coolers packed with ice at their feet 24-7. if i go back, bet your arse that will be first thing discussed upon inquiry of place to book.
also, id skip the shopping tour.. i can go to souvenir shops in the airport hahahaha... although it was kinda cool to check out the stuff from the van. dunns river falls was pretty cool.
