Is there another place like Mexico Beach?
Not crowded, can ride a bike/walk/take a golfcart almost anywhere, mostly local everything...really just enjoy family and peace without fighting a walmart crowd.

We found Mexico beach 2 months before it got blown away. Now as we're trying to plan this year's trip, I don't know which way to go.

Could be anywhere along SC, GA, northern parts of FL, MS?

Thanks in advance-

St George Island, but not sure how much storm damage they received.

My brother has a good friend that has a place there and told him damage was minimal. Everything is open.

I'll be checking it out in a couple of weeks, we may have a family gathering there this summer. There was a pretty accurate flood surge map that I used during Michael and it showed that almost no residential areas on SGI had flooding but most of the state park went under water. The state park may not be open this summer - it is a mess. But the rest of the island got off fairly lightly.

It's a great place - my favorite on the Gulf Coast. But there are days where the bugs can be unbearable on the beach. Mosquitos, sand fleas, no see-ums, the whole gamut.

the beach there is the opposite of "not crowded"

Sullivan's/Isle of Palms are very white collar and the beach gets extremely crowded during the summer and holidays.

The correct place here on the SC coast for what OP is looking for is Edisto Island.

Captiva/sanibel island in south Florida long haul but awesome, no high rises. Then of course cape San blas down the road from Mexico beach, they didn’t have as much damage surprisingly, look at sea cliffs or barrier dunes townhomes with community pools if you don’t want to rent a house.
