For those who have been to Panama, is a week too long? I’ve heard mixed reviews about this country but there are some intriguing areas I want to check out.

Update: flight booked!

Checking for rental car suggestions.

Too relative

Some will say it’s not enough

If you know what you’re doing, week should be fine. No real shortage of stuff to do regardless of what you’re going for

It depends on what you are after. If it is nature then a week is definitely not too long. I've been twice and really liked it. A week in the canal zone at an eco-lodge, and a week down in the Darien at a camp near the border with Colombia. Panama isn't really developed for tourism as much as Costa Rica is but the wildlife is better, partly because of fewer tourists. I've flown in to Panama City but never have toured it or the beaches (which I've heard good things about).

Thanks for the feedback guys!

I’ve got me eyes on Boquete, Anton Valley and Chagres. I don’t think I have time for the islands unfortunately.

I'm flying into Panama City friday. Spending a day there and then 5 days of fishing! I'll report back.

I spent 6 days there. 3 in Panama City/Canal zone and 3 on Isla Contadora.

Just booked my flight!

Thinking about setting up base in Boquete.

Anyone have experience renting a car in Panama?
