Heading to Cabo for a bachelor party Friday, same day Hurricane Bud (hopefully a Tropical Storm then) makes landfall. Booked through Cheap Caribbean.

Does anyone have any experience with Cheap Caribbean and rearranging a trip bc of a storm? I'm fairly optimistic we can just push the trip back a day but looking for any tips or advice from anyone that has dealt with something similar.

Also, how do Airlines handle these situations as well? Does everything hinge on when a flight will be rescheduled?

Wait for a travel waiver for the airlines before calling in. Travel agencies have a lot more leeway when the waivers are up, otherwise they may try and charge you the change fee to change your trip by a day.

We are here this week and next. Are you staying in Cabo or San Jose?

I can provide recs for food, booze, sports, and illicit nightlife activities.

I will be arriving....hopefully, tomorrow morning. Being such a weak storm we are taking the risk of the storm being past and still able to fly in. I have no experience flying like this so won't be surprised if we get delayed.

We leave Houston at 8am and land in Cabo at 940am. Any recommendations would be awesome. Group of 8 of us staying just outside of Cabo San Lucas.

How is the weather?

Partly cloudy, warm, breezy. Feels awesome outside. All that said, we are inside watching Spain/Portugal in the World Cup.

We will be staying at Cabo Azul thanks to my in laws being up to their heads in timeshare scams. How is the area?

Nice area. You’ll be next to several other large resorts. San Jose has a ton of new restaurants and bars. Get reservations at Flora Farms and Acres restaurant. If you like the modern flare and don’t mind a short drive south, The Cape hotel has an awesome restaurant called Manta which has excellent food with excellent views.

....more to come.

Here is a start. I will add onto this post and perhaps eventually create a "definitive Cabo thread" akin to what AbitaFan did for Boston. Others can chime in and add their experiences, suggestions, and commentary.

::: PAST THREADS ON CABO :::
1. June 2017
2. January 2018

::: THINGS TO DO :::
1. Glass Bottom Boat to the arch (Los Cabos) - eat breakfast at The Office and have their boat take you over there for only $5 per person. Keep your receipt from breakfast and find the yellow boat. He will take you by Pelican Rock, the sea lion colony, then drop you off at Lover's Beach. You can catch any of the return trips from ferrying folks over.
2. Dune Buggies - this is an awesome activity that we don't have in Houston. They pick you up at your hotel and provide lunch. Well worth the 1/2 day you're gone.
3. Wild Canyon Adventures is who we have used numerous times for some daytime fun. Here is the list of things they offer.
- Zip Lines / Cliff Rapelling
- Camel Rides
- Bungee Jumping
- Giant Canyon Swing
- Wirikuta
4. OMNIA Dayclub (San Jose)
5. SHOREbar (San Jose)
6. Fishing, Fishing, Fishing

::: PLACES TO EAT :::
San Jose (Fancy)
- Acre
- Seared
- Mi Cocina
- Manta
- El Restaurante at Las Ventanas
- Agua by Larbi
- Javier's
San Jose (Casual)
- The Hangman
- Taqueria El Fogon
- Las Cazuelas del Don
- Guacamaya's
Los Cabos (Fancy)
- El Farallon
- Nik San Sushi
- Hacienda Cocina & Cantina
- Bar Esquina
- Bajo La Luna
Los Cabos (Casual)
- Daikoku
- Tres Gallos
- Los Barriles
- Tacos Guss
- The Office (breakfast is best)
- Gordo Lele’s Tacos & Tortas
- ...too many to list here. LOTS of choices.

::: THINGS TO AVOID :::
1. Timeshare sharks at the airport - They are slick at reeling people in with attractive offers, discounts, and coupons. Walk straight out of the airport through both sets of sliding doors until you get into the parking lot. You will see a couple of bars and a load of people getting their rides.
2. The markets when cruise ships are in - Aside from the hoards of cruise enthusiasts, the vendors are much less likely to negotiate their prices.
3. Asking mariachis to play for you - They will demand a tip and stick around until you give them one. More importantly, letting them walk up and start playing without saying "No Thanks" means you have accepted their offer to perform...and thus, a tip for them.
4. Jewelry on the beach - Quality silver at a fantastic price is aplenty in Cabo, but what the beach peddlers sell is often fake.
5. Wave Runners / Jet Skis - these can get boring really quick, and you are stuck with paying the full timeslot you agreed to. Also, waves and currents can really limit the area you are allowed to operate in, and the sellers seldom offer a discount if that's the case.
6. Parasailing - this can be fun if you're wanting some great bird's eye pictures of the shore. You will likely be offered a 30-minute ride, but what they won't tell you is that your ascent and descent eats into your time...meaning you will only be at the peak height for 8-10 minutes.
7. Prepaid fuel for rental cars - you have to guess how much gas you will use before you drive off. Simply decline and just fill up the tank to the same level. NOTE: you cannot put gas into your car in Mexico, they have attendants that do it for you.

::: IMPORTANT NOTES :::
-Make photo copies of each document you bring (e.g., passport, drivers license) and only carry the copies with you
-Put the US consulate's phone number in your phone contacts; you can call 1-844-528-6611 (if calling from a US phone)
-Negotiate the price of your taxi BEFORE you get in; your hotel's bellhops can always help with this
-Don't spend any time worrying about your safety, have a great time and use common sense

=========================

...more on the way.

Definitely eat at El Farrallon at the Resort at Pedregal. We stayed here in May and it was fricking amazing.

Also, Los Tres Gallos and Gordo Leles tacos are awesome.

Manta is another high end restaurant at the Cape hotel.

Couldn't get my phone to work over there for some reason so I didn't see any of this while there. We were a group of 8 guys all around 31/32.

We had no delays with the storm. Cabo is awesome. We did a lot of drinking and went out downtown twice. Squid Roe is where we ended up and had a blast there.

We did go to The Office but thats the only place on the lists above that we hit.
