Are most things open in New Orleans right now? I'm sure you have to mask up and socially distance of course, but are most restaurants open? Shops in the FQ? Thanks!

If you have been to NOLA before and you want to come for a relaxing weekend and hit up some restaurants you can do that. If you are wanting to come for a first time I wouldn't right now. A lot of the traditional places aren't doing dine in, but a lot is open.

I haven't been to the Quarter on a weekend in a long time, but during the week it looks pretty dead when I pass through.

That's exactly what we're wanting to do. We have a long weekend and want to stay in a nice hotel (some of the rates look great), eat somewhere fun, and visit a few shops. We're not looking to have the traditional tourist trip.

I'm confused about the ever-changing bar regulations. Can you still get a drink with a meal at a restaurant or what's going on there?

Thanks again.

Yeah it's the stupidest thing. You can go to most restaurants and order food and drinks, but no bars only or to go drinks.

This was a really stupid move by Destroya. Instead of enforcing rules at the few places that were really thumbing their noses at it all, she shut them all down for to go drinks.

The Windsor Court is saying their pool is open and they are serving drinks and food at the pool bar. This or a hotel like that would be great.

I went a few months back and it was a great time to visit WWII museum. It was virtually empty. Made for a much nicer experience. Not sure their hours now however.

Went last weekend, Saba for lunch, Meril for drinks, Pelican Club for dinner. City was quiet.

Hot like a dog pissing on your leg. Come in October. Less humidity and a better time to walk downtown.

Just got back from G.W. Fins. It was great. Quarter was not that crowded, but many of the restaurants had nice crowds such as Fins and the Pelican Club. Many places were closed, but plenty enough were open to have a good time in New Orleans. Went to Peche last weekend and it was very good.

Yesterday I noticed that the two daiquiri shops in Algiers were closed, but the one on Terry Parkway (Jefferson) line at that drive thur was long it extended into the street.

Got dinner there next weekend. Thoughts on a place nearby for a pre-drink cocktail? I’m thinking Broussard’s courtyard or Revolution bar but open to other nearby restaurants with a good bar.
