The Pour Haus is a sweet bar downtown. The Gristmill has good food.

Dry comal creek winery for an afternoon trip

If kids, Alamo Karts in San Antonio isn’t too far

Gruene is close, but it is mostly overpriced Knick knacks.

After Sclitterbahn or floating the Comal, go eT at Pat's. Right by Rock R if you use them for your tube rental. Big goblets of cold beer and great burgers and cheese enchiladas

second Pat's. We've been eating there for 40 years. Shotugn Willie is correct: get a burger or enchiladas. The completely redone Krause's in downtown NB is good too. Go get bearclaws at Naegelin's Bakery at the square.

We don't eat at Grismill after watching the new age Austin hipster waiters put their shaggy arse hair in people's food when they carry the trays. enjoy!

There was some giant BBQ place I drove past, pulled a u turn and mashed meat for an hour. You walk through a line and say 2 beef ribs, 3 slices of brisket, etc. I have no clue in name but it was good. Someone here may know what I’m talking about. It was ~ 7 yrs ago.

Probably Cooper's. They're pretty legit.

Gruene River Grill is way better than The Gristmill, and you have a great view if you sit by the window.

Gruene Hall has live music during the day most days, and it's free so you don't have to commit to one of the nighttime shows if you just want to check it out and grab a beer.

Couple of awesome antique shops downtown.

Also, the Float House has amazing burgers, and it's right on the river.
