If you're staying on the Strip, Uber or Lyft.

We need the car for a hiking excursion we have planned for one of the days we're there.

call hertz or Avis and rent a car
I’m pretty sure it’s just that easy even in Las Vegas

Several hotels on the strip have rental car locations on site. Cheaper than the airport.

I'm aware there are rental cars in Vegas and that you can rent them the same as anywhere else. To clarify, I was asking for any tips, recommendations, deals...etc

You can Uber to Red Rock imo. Ubering to Calico would still be cheaper than renting a car. Mt Charleston and VoF all require cars

forget the hiking and call up Las Vegas Rock Crawlers, you can do to any of those places you named.

They will pick you up at your hotel with jeep for you to drive and you will get to actually drive the jeep rock crawling.

Its one of the best times Ive had with my pants on.
