Get drinks at the Partridge Inn bar. Hooters was fun. Have fun!

This guy gets it. Partridge Inn bar scene is incredible during the Masters, as is the Hooters on Washington. Be sure and buy a signed koozie from John Daly.

Also, if you want to really go out, there is a dance club off of Walden Road that is full of talent that week.

Is there anywhere close by you can walk to and hang out while you wait for traffic to disperse?

I'm so jelly. We went last year on Monday and it rained out. We did get a couple hours in. First thing we did was hit the pro shop when we entered and then just grabbed some brews/sandwiches and strolled the course. Very few things live up to their hype in live, the Masters is one of them. Enjoy

The Hooter's is walking distance. There are a few other restaurants right there as well. Forget which ones.

re: Heading to The Masters
Hooters is your best bet. Washington Road is pretty run down. I've also gone to the grocery across the street and just bought some beer and "tailgated" in the parking lot while we waited.

If you stay at the Partridge Inn, they have a shuttle that runs all day which is key.

ETA: looks like the dance club "VUE" has closed...

Heading there for the Thursday round as well.
My 1st experience as well. We are taking a charter bus there, so 1st thing I should do is go to gift shop, buy all the souvenirs bring it back to the bus and then walk the course.

After walking the course, find a spot b/t 2 & 8 or 12 tee

I've never seen Tiger in person and although not a fan would like to follow for a few holes as well. How crowded is it to follow someone like him and or Phil/Speith. I know most tourneys it's nuts to follow him just wasn't sure about the Masters as far as following him

No need to bring them back. They have a bag check for free right next to the gift shop. Or you can give them your stuff and ship it back.

Very crowded for all big names. Tiger is usually the deepest crowd. At least 5 people deep on the ropes trying to catch a glimpse during tournament days. Your best bet is to post up a few holes ahead of the group and let them come to you.

No, frick them.

You are going about this the wrong way if that's your mindset. You basically have Christmas taken care of this year if you utilize the gift that's been dropped into your lap.

re: Heading to The Masters
Going for the Monday practice round, first timer. From what I've gathered on TD and from friends, my plan is:

Get there early early, as soon as they open gates go to gift shop

Buy souvenirs and return them to car because line to retrieve could be long

Purchase Masters chairs and set them up at #12 or somewhere comparable.

Walk the entire course

Set up shop at chairs, eat/drink, stroll around following a couple of guys

We are staying at a house in Reynolds Plantation, super pumped

If you are going early in the week i would probably hit the pro shop as you are leaving. They are not going to run out of shirts.

Id like to add write down someone you knows number to call from the courtesy phones. Ask them what they are doing, when they ask what you are doing, let them know

I was told this week by one of my employees that he gets 4 badges a year. I was like bro, these are things you should be telling me in your interview

His grandpa was COO of a Fortune 500 company for 20+ years and still on the board.

I have a pretty good friend whose family has had several passes for 20 or 30 years. Forget how many he said. They're from that area. He's never offered me any, and I've never asked. His uncle is kind of a dick about them from what I've gathered. Friend's wife has only been once or twice, and only for one day the times she has gone, and they've been married almost 20 years.

somewhat understandable. if they give you or anyone the tickets and that person does anything wrong, they wont ever have the tickets/badges again

re: Heading to The Masters
Yeah, I get that. I've gathered though that my friend's uncle plays favorites within the family. Friend's wife practically begs to go every year, and has only been a couple of times in 20 years. Friend's kids have begged to go, and never have. Meanwhile, friend's cousin(uncle's son) takes his wife and 3 kids every year. Friend's dad and uncle were brothers, so it's not like their distant relatives. His uncle has also supposedly taken several of his co-workers over the years.

shite like that. Of course I'm just hearing my friend's side so it may not be all that accurate.

Go buy a chair as soon as you get there. Place it on a spot and go walk the entire course, come back to your chairs when your tired of walking. Your chair will still be there. The 16th green is a great place to sit. Don’t let long line to concessions or rest rooms worry you, things move very quick. Get to the course by 6:30 and you can get a great parking spot. Don’t pay to park, all the Master lots are free. We parked 150 yards from the gate this morning for free.
