So I'm visiting my friend who goes to school up in Anchorage in November and was wondering how many of yall have been. Also besides cold as frick what is the weather like in mid November would like to see some crazy snow storms but that might be to early. Also are we going to leave the city to see the northern lights?

Usually not too cold on November and you can see the Aurora in the city but it depends on where you are.
Consider getting up to Hatchers Pass for viewing and crazy snow. It's not far from town, near Palmer
Here's a link, they have a mobile link as well that forecasts the Aurora

Yeah snow starts sticking up here around Halloween. It doesnt really start snowing somewhat consistently till the end November. I think the snowiest month around here is December/January.
Itll be between the mid teens upper 20s when your up here. Usually nothing too crazy, bit you never know.
Roger is correct. Try to head up to hatchers pass north of Palmer usually decent amount of snow up there by then. They have cabins up there too.
