Eat, and drink, at Biergarten! Buy the Liter of Warsteiner Dunkel. The food is great and you get a Bavarian band to celebrate with you. It's all in the AC and a good place to get out of the heat. Get Reservations. If you are kid free, kick back at Nomad Lounge and have a Night Monkey in Animal Kingdom to cool off. There are many places to cool down instead of going to the room. We will be there in September. Have fun!

Also, look up Disboards online. Go to Theme Park Attractions and Strategies in the forums. Read read read.

good advice on universal,

I believe Universal is $120, but unlike WDW, you have to buy your fastpasses, but you buy it for the entire park. Its good for every ride (not sure if just one per ride or all day).

I've only been to Islands of Adventure, but it was pretty bad arse. The Hulk ride, Harry Potter ride, and Spider-Man ride were awesome.

I did less than a 1/2 day at Universal (got there around 4pm).

The Harry Potter ride had a single rider line, so my wait was only about 15 mins. I used my friend's fastpass on Hulk, not sure how long the wait was for stand by. My wait was 20 mins. Spider-Man was near closing, so stand by was only 15 mins.

I think the fastpass was $80, so a one day pass would be $200.

I like Universal better - especially for kids 10 and up. So many freakin' rides. As far as the fast passes - just stay at one of the premiere hotels and they are FREE. Those hotels are a bit more but the easy access and the passes make it well worth it.

Only thing about Universal is it's a bit less immersive than Disney. The new sections are on par, Harry Potter is top notch. Disney people seem to harp on that a lot that it doesn't have the same magic. They have some points at some places, but Universal is turning it around. The Nintendo section is something I can't wait for, but that is a few years away from starting construction, I believe.

I go to Universal more, but that is more due to having free passes whenever I want.

Use the train to get around the park. Youll be in the shade plus save alot of time getting from one place to the other. Also, make sure you constantly update your fast passes as soon as you use one. You can only use three at a time but as soon as you use one, youll have another available.

I would never consider the train as a "time saver" for walking through the park. I can cross through the hub 2 times before the train gets to the station, unloads, loads, then continues. It can get hot as balls sitting at the station waiting for that sucker as well. Is it a bit fun, your first couple of times, and convenient? Yes. Faster? Not a chance unless the park is elbow to elbow.

He mentioned he is going in July, which is going to be packed elbow to elbow, plus hot as hell. There are alot of spots in the park that are wide open so its easy to weave in and out of people, but theres also alot of spots that theres a huge bottleneck such as going through various covered areas. If you are extremely familiar with the park and dont have a group of people trying to stay together, then yes maybe the train isnt the fastest to do. But in his situation of going with a group of family members, and also having not been there since he was little, Im pretty sure he would really enjoy the train if he needs to get from one end to the other quickly and also be able to relax a little on a hot day.

ill definitely check the train out, especially with the group as you mentioned, but when I'm not, or its just a couple of us, i will more than likely hit up the bob and weave technique

Screw bob and weave, play foreign person ping pong with a friend. The Brazilians are notorious for walking 10 or more people wide. Just get a friend and shoulder check those bastards into your friend to shoulder check back at you. See how many shoulder checks you can deliver to the same group. It’s great fun and those frickers deserve it since they can’t seem to form a line to let everyone move through.
